Sunflower's heart

The sunflower symbolizes the sun. For Ukrainians, sunflowers mean home.
I grew up in the southern part of Ukraine. Sunflower fields are everywhere there. I used to run through them, take pictures of these giant flowers, and smile—because you always smile when looking at the sun. You smile when you’re at home.

I haven’t been home for 3 years. It’s strange that during the war, the sun keeps shining, and flowers keep blooming. People keep smiling. Differently, but we smile. Ukrainian fields have been burned, but my granny still has sunflowers in her garden.

I haven’t been home for 3 years, but my home is in my heart. Every time I see a sunflower, I feel that.

I created Sunflower with lots of pain and lots of love—for myself and for millions of Ukrainian women who carry our home in their hearts.

At Sunflower, I design bright, elegant, everyday-wearable necklaces that will elevate any outfit, especially during the long winter (I’m based in Canada, so you get it…). The beads are meticulously selected by me from vendors in Ukraine, Canada, Italy, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. Each necklace is unique.
